This thread will explain how the infraction and auto-ban system works. If you see any grammatical errors or have any questions, feel free to post in the Defects board or contact a member of the staff team. Thank you.
Infractions
- Infractions are given when a member breaks the rules. Some infractions stay for ever, some get reversed, some just expire. Only global mods can reverse infractions and there must be special conditions to do so. Most infractions given are not permanent and are set to expire. This means depending on the amount of points and severity, an infraction will last longer than others. Once expired, it can no longer affect you in points leading to an auto-ban. Here are the current infractions of Rune-Server explained in-depth.
Extended Infractions
A user will receive extended expiration times if given a second (or more) infraction that matches an existing active infraction. For example, a user is given an infraction for spamming posts that expires in 3 months. One week later this user is given another spamming posts infraction. Since the user already had an active spamming posts infraction, this new infraction's expiration time is added to the end time of the previous infraction. Effectively, this new infraction will now end in 6 months instead of the default 3 months. If the user was given a third infraction, it would be added to the end of the second infraction as well.
Automatic Bans
Automatic bans are given when a certain number of infraction points accumulate and have not yet expired or been reversed.
We hope everything is cleared up. Remember to contact the staff if you have any questions or concerns.
