Exactly what I expected.
Lets see how this turns out :
The Discord is being made because of the hype and trend around having a Discord server and not because it provides a legitimate benefit to the community. It actually does the opposite if you ignore the fact that it’s a giant waste of time.
The negativity is because this is seriously what brilliant idea we’ve come up with? Lol
And they're all camped out in a channel that plays music and I said I'll give it 2 weeks tops before they realize they can listen to music on their own and don't have to pretend to like 5 other ppl they barely talk to just to listen to the same music
we deal with enough shit linkers in the sb (i.e. kaleem) last thing i want is someone actually controlling what plays in my ears
Respectfully disagree mate, there are plenty of benefits to Discord. For a start it can replace the archaic Shoutbox that has been dead for the last few years, and it does it with a popular platform with a ton of features that we'll just never get with the Shoutbox. We no longer have to stifle discussion with Discord - if people want to ask for help with RSPS stuff then we have a channel for it, and likewise for things like the market, serious discussions, spam, etc.
The Discord retracts nothing of value from the forums and provides us with different ways to engage with the community. I get that it may be a novelty right now, but last night we were chilling with over 70 people in there, which I think goes to show that the community isn't as dead as we all like to think.
All I'm seeing here is shit that isn't your problem though. If there's more shit to deal with it must mean its generating more activity, which surely is only good for the site.
I mean you can just like, not join the music channel? Not sure why you're really trying to delude people into thinking this is actually what happens.
