Given thanks matters?

I think that on a Rune-Server forum we should not flaunt numbers when it comes to given/received thanks.
I think "Thanks given" should be removed and "Thanks received" should be changed to "Supported posts".

I don't think its so much as the thanks mattering as this sort of being another form of reputation on the forums.

I disagree with this as it would be easier to manipulate this sort of thing by just going through with an alt and supporting all your main accounts posts than the current reputation system (which isn't perfect but far better).

Let's be real, postbit numbers aren't straight up random. The number of thanks we've received is a bit arbitrary, I guess, though it's a quick and dirty way to measure what % of a person's posts are appreciated. Thanks given on the other hand measures what exactly? How supportive we are?

It's a measure of how many posts you've thanked, nothing more and nothing less. I don't know why anyone would read anything further into it and obfuscating what this statistic truly means by calling it "support" instead of exactly what it is (the number of posts you've thanked) doesn't really help the situation.
