So lately after my advertising request got denied, i was informed to report threads. Is it possible that we could get a notification when a thread has been removed or our report has been successful. It would be nice to see how many of my reports are working apposed to how many are not. Maybe even say why the report wasn't acted upon. I'm sure it wouldn't be too much work just adding a simple notification when you report someones post and if it gets taken down or not.

Pay for the feature to be developed, pay for someone to audit there's no malicious code. Then post it and wait 3 months and it could possibly happen.

Why do you need to know if it was/wasn't dealt with? That's the concern of the moderators.

Why not just check back to it in around 24 hours after you report it?

Reported posts are done quickly and effectively. Open report, open thread, infraction/warn (sometimes), delete post (or thread), delete report, on to the next one. Reported posts would take a life time to accomplish if the mods sat around putting notes on every report justifying why the DIDN'T handle something. Mods are trusted to handle reports down the middle, they should never have to justify why they did or didn't handle a report unless the decision is severely questionable. When I was a mod and stopped giving a fuck about reported posts sometimes they'd stack for up to a full day or more before someone just binge handled them. Probably not much different now, so this system would just be even more time consuming.

Just check back on the thread if you're that concerned.

a ''your report has been successful'' is often only added to satisfy the reporter when they have been done harm by the person they reported. if you report an user for scamming, you will get a confirmation of a moderator that the person has been dealt with (e.g. ''lord_scammer1999 has been banned, thanks for your report'').

however, a person who posts in the wrong section isn't directly harming you and therefore it shouldn't be your concern at all. so there would be no need to inform or satisfy the reporter that the report has been dealt with. even for the sake of knowing that your report has been taken seriously you could always re-visit the case later and look for yourself if something happened (don't bother because from experience i can say reports are taken seriously)

    hope this answers you
