I support but not in this method.
An easier method than updating every post when silencing/banning.

Basically a thread in appeal section where mods can update their post so it shows their sb actions (user, silenced/banned, date, length).
So moderators know why a certain user is punished and so the user can check why he was punished.
Takes 30 second for a moderator to update their post.

There should have a command in shoutbox that put the length in the ban/silence moderator does.
Like.. /silence user; length (Like nathan said)
I didn't put reason as moderator aren't suppose to tell reason unless they want, i don't support it but i am not the admin.
After the "length" aka time is over, it unsilence/unban (shoutbox bot) the users by it self.
This shouldn't be so hard but take a little time to make everything work, I won't try to make this due to fact that it's a 9/10 chance the admin won't care and won't try to get it added.
There goes my 10 cents.

Why do you care; you're not mod

We already have tabs of silenced/banned users. You're trying to over complicate the way moderators work.
No support.

I still don't get the point of those tabs tbh. 'oh look that user is silenced, what to do now?' They became even more pointless since the silence notice was implemented.
I'm not trying to over complicate everything, it would just improve communication between moderators, because now if a moderator wants to find out why a certain user was silenced, he needs to pm every staff member. My system or something like it would improve the whole punishment system because then more fair punishments can be given.
If updating a post or typing a longer command is too complicated for you then I wonder how you got moderator in the first place.
admins can check the actions of a mod in the shoutbox. other mods do not need to see why they silenced a user because they cannot undo another mod's actions. if they want to know they should ask
