My friend repped me, and his is higher. Mine didn't go up?
Per 200+ rep power or something yours will go up by 1.
It won't always go up, your reputation points probably went up though.
Rep power is your rep points divided by 200. Whatever his rep power was is given to you as rep points then divided by 200 to give you your rep power.
