What is going on with Rune-Server?

Everyday I witness people being flamed and bullied on this site by other kids. The only reason these kids do it is because they are behind a computer screen. I thought this was supposed to be a friendly community, am I wrong? For example: Someone asks something like: "How do you change an IP in a client?" They are obviously new to coding, so we should help them out right? Well the majority of idiots on this site do not think that way. " Wow learn java before you post, newfag; gtfo this site" is what some would say. Isn't that the point of this site? To learn? Do any of you realize that the more people that are learning how to program, the more advanced programming will get? Start helping people out more. It's not like you gotta go out of your way. But if you are gunna go out of your way to post, at least make it something that the person would want to here.

Hm. I seriously do not get what any of you are trying to accomplish by flaming & putting down other people. It for sure doesn't make you at all mighty and powerful. You're behind a computer screen for god sakes. Grow up guys. I think rules around here should start being more strict as to how we treat others. I would love to see this community grow, and compete against other programming communites; but right now, we can't even be a community.

Have others been noticing the same things around here? I wanna know your opinions on this.

There are Moderators for them. If you think there's some bullying/flaming, report the post and we'll take care of them.^^

Agree with some of it, although can't stand people constantly asking stupid questions where the answers can be easily found w/o making a thread.

Well yes, it is partly their fault to. But we can also point it out to them instead of flaming them like "omg why did you make a thread for this you retard."

I find it offensive that you're implying I'm a pussy in real life. This is indeed a friendly community, but you have to understand that if people are too lazy or stupid to use the damn search function to find the answer to their question, that, if I might add, had most likely already been answered at least a hundred times either here or on another forum that could easily be found via a search machine such as Google, it does get kind of frustrating to answer these people every time. Being a friendly community does not mean that we're going to hold your hand, wipe your ass and spoonfeed you. You're also a bit of a hypocrite, aren't you? You're posting a complaint about flamers whil you yourself are calling these people "idiots". Yes, when someone asks a question that's obviously way ahead of their level we do tell them that they should pick up a book and put some effort into programming before we're willing to help them out. I've said it before and I'll say it again: we're not going to hold your hand, wipe your ass and spoonfeed you all the way. The point of this site is to contribute to the RSPS scene or to have a nice chat with members of this community, and that fun is being wrecked by the thousands of questions we get asked in the shoutbox daily because people are too damn lazy to post a help thread or to google/search for their problem. I guess you mean that the more people learn how to program, the more quality-content will eventually start getting released. While this is true, it's not true when these people, as I've said before, are to lazy to even bother picking up a book about programming. I'll gladly help out people if they at least show some effort beforehand.

Most of these people asking those questions aren't here to learn. They are here to steal what we have already created and make a profit off of it.

As mentioned before if has things to do with the age group, we all vary. But there are a lot of trolls on this site, who just try to put others down, as some sort of accomplishment to them, the moderators, however, have been doing a pretty good job in cleaning up their mess, and taking care of this effectively.

Welcome to society... wherever you go whether it's the internet or real life, there will always a be a picking order. Rune-Server works the same way, if you act stupid or annoying you will get told so and it's up to the people themselfs whether they want to adapt to a way of acting that the majority of the community will accept.

But it's funny to see there always remain idealists like you, stay around for another year and you'll understand what we are saying ;).

Lol, you say that more of us that learn programming benefits us all, but how many people are here to really learn to program. They're here for a few months to mess around with private servers, I'd bet less than 1% of the people in RSPS are actually here to learn to program properly.
