The role of a moderator is to moderate, not actively participate in RSPS. Stuart or any other staff member being involved in RSPS is completely coincidental and has no correlation on who actually gets promoted, and rightfully so.
This was a huge issue I was vocal about (ultimately contributed to my demotion and a new administrator in the grand scheme of things) throughout the entire time I spent as a moderator. This however is irrelevant to the discussion, should probably stick to the Discord side of things, and save this for a different thread. Same goes for the usergroup stuff. Not disagreeing with you, just saying make a new thread because I don't wanna stray off topic from the Discord ideas.Quote:
Most request threads take over a month to get processed, if you bump that shit your request is completely neglected at all.
I know full well how Nitro works, but what are you genuinely not getting from our stance on this? We don't want anything inappropriate cropping up and we don't want to encourage emote spam. The Discord is in its very early days, and I wouldn't consider anything to be fully set in stone with it yet. When its fully integrated with the forums and we can verify users automatically, maybe we won't have to play things so cautiously.
This has no relevancy to this thread at all, but I'll answer you anyway. I will also say that some of the issues you've highlighted, you clearly don't have a great understanding of.
Whether any staff are involved in the private server scene or not bares no relevancy on their ability to moderate the forums or be involved with the community. There are several of us that have been involved in the scene to various different extents over the years, so even if involvement in RSPS was some prerequisite to moderate the forums, most of us would be well qualified in that area anyway.
Requests related to accounts aren't handled by Moderators. Any requests done through reported posts (threads being moved, thread name changes etc) are handled very quickly.
Obviously trying to have a pop at me here, but that's fine. As for no new blood - Koy, Michael, Menth, and Silly Goose were all new additions. We don't have a high turn over of Moderators, so I'm sorry if that disappoints you.
Yep, this is a community forum. To be awarded the programmer rank, you're required to submit your work and it will be evaluated by the other members of the programmer group. Has nothing to do with the staff at all.
This doesn't need discussing on here any further. Feel free to shoot me a PM on here or Discord if you want to discuss your concerns, I'll graciously respond to them.
And I've explained why we're not doing it.
If it was neglect we wouldn't have addressed your points at all.Quote:
I do care for the fact that they neglect what people want and think.
Everybody in the staff team cares.Quote:
Truth be told these forums should've changed the staff a long time ago. Someone who doesn't give a shit about what the community is actually made for shouldn't have such a high position,
No there aren't. If they've "proven" to be good choices then surely we would be "recycling" staff which you're initial complaint is about?Quote:
there are loads of members in this community who've proven to be much better choices.
This is irrelevant to their ability to be able to moderate/run the community.Quote:
The current staff hasn't been relevant to RSPS in a long time (with the exception of.. Stuart; I think he's the only staff member in here who actually does anything related to RSPS at all).
The staff team deals with reports very quickly for volunteers.Quote:
Considering the fact that the staff doesn't really do shit related to RSPS, they should at least be able to actively filter through peoples requests... which I think we all know isn't true.
Misc request threads are literally the least prioritised thing on this forum. They are all cosmetic things that don't take priority over reports/password requests/scam reports/etc. Furthermore, only admins can deal with them.Quote:
Most request threads take over a month to get processed, if you bump that shit your request is completely neglected at all.
You haven't listed any.Quote:
There are so many reasons why many of the staff members shouldn't be where they are right now. It's a complete tyranny tbh.
It is not the staff responsibility to "refreshen" the community.Quote:
The worst fact is that the community isn't being refreshened at all.
Why is this an issue? Either they can fulfil the role or they can't. You aren't proving to me what the issue is.Quote:
Even the most "recent" staff promotions were just recycled people from the past, no new blood has entered the staff team in a very long time.
The programmer rank is a vote in group that requires a nomination. If an individual has code they wish to submit for nomination they can contact any of the programmers to receive one.Quote:
No one's being awarded any ranks, multiple amazing programmers in this community who're actually active completely neglected (some examples include Cjay0091, Jason -
I don't know what credentials you have to make "your opinion" of his code relevant to this discussion, but regardless you aren't part of the programmer rank so you have no influence over who should/shouldn't be in it.Quote:
I've never spoken to Jason myself but I've seen his code and he's worthy of the rank IMO)
He was responded to in the Discord already.
People use discord instead of the forum.
Close Rune-Server.ee and just convert to a discord server. :L
