Today a Botnet was released into the shoutbox. The moderators quickly took action and banned the user. Ive heard around 10-50 people may have downloaded the botnet so I have placed this guide within this post to help you remove.
Credit should go to kyle for writing up the guide.
Steps on how to search and remove this botnet:
1.Go into your start tab and click "Run"(If vista, Search in the start menu bar for Run).
2.Type inside the run "msconfig". You will be taken to a config panel for the boot, startup etc..
3.Click the startup tab at end and search for anything that is unusual, named strange and that is located inside the startup folder.
4.Un-tick the file that you think it shouldn't be in there and make sure it's in startup location.
5.Restart your PC, This will then disable the botnet/Trojan/Dropper to access your computer access after restarting.
F.A.Q.
-Whats a botnet?
A botnet is a net of PC's that are infected. It has full control over your PC and can lead to making several things.
-How can a botnet affect me?
A botnet gives the owner of it the ability to steal your passwords, D-DoS, Do random stuff operated by him etc..
-Should i leave a botnet on my computer and just ignore it?
No, It can be really dangerous and can affect many people at the recieving end.
Beware:
This may be a RAT/Botnet/Stealer.
