Pay the little bit extra to go with there paid version Hosting24.

if im not mistaken when i had this issue , i had to go to my UserCP on my webhost and change my PHP version to one that allowed Mysqli

also helps for your webhost to have your IP allowed in the UserCP for all SQL connections.

    100% sure the hosting24 supports it .
not 100% sure if the free version 000webhost supports any longer.

    Just go to namecheap,
    20$ and you've got a website for a year.

They do not support remote mysqli though
