I've always had a love for Hyperion, same goes for Runesource but i highly respect Apollo. I'd have to say Runesource is the more simple option to go with of the 3. But with Apollo many people don't want to learn, or don't have the time to learn ruby, which I'm sure you could write content in java and just not use ruby, but that defeats the purpose of ruby being there in the first place. I guess you could say Hyperion is more or less a middle option of the 3, not sure how accurate that statement would be though.

Hyperion is the way to go tbh, stable and reliable
if your learning, using Delta bases are good.
Or if your a tiny bit more experienced with Java use Project Insanity, but PI does create bad habits with Java IMO
Ive used Apollo before and i dont really like the use of Ruby, but hey, do what you want, this is only a mere suggestion
NOTE, it also is highly advised to use a IDE. Such as Netbeans or Eclipse, these just help with the development of your game

Delta? What? Did I just slip back into 2008?

I would not suggest anyone use Delta in 2017, lol.

Not too sure about that, it's at 0 . It would have to go minus to even be remotely close to his IQ.

    Overall

I've been going through Java courses from TeamTreehouse, and I want to start applying what I've learned. Being that I know how to read and write code basics I think I can make some progress and get into a groove and keep learning. Apollo seems a bit too advanced, therefore I'm gong to work with hyperion not PI because I'd rather not start learning inefficient and messy code that I've seen used in PI.

For beginners its quite a simple and self-explanatory base which is easy to use and get a grip with. Just saying but its down to personal preference at the end of the day

No? It's not simple at all. It's outdated, poorly written, and almost 10 freaking years old! Why would you ever want to use something like that!!?

Pick up Apollo. Learn to do things properly one time, don't start with something "easy" and learn bad habits and bad code, and end up in a disaster that can barely handle anything. Do things right one time.
