    Hi,

I made this app for my upcoming project, TokHaar, to help construct full-length dialogues with much more ease. Dialogues are, in my opinion, one of the more tedious tasks developers are given not only by having to design a concise system but something that is pleasant to work with.

I worked on this on and off throughout the weekend, in the spare time I had, and found it rather fun as I have never really bothered to construct my own UIs.

    What does this tool do?

    Features:
    • Exports in json format.
    • Allows for multiple dialogue entries.
    • Can view existing dialogues that are already created or that you have just created.
    • Allows for assigning of stage id (the stage the user is in the dialogue session. Allows for going back to previous dialogues or jumping forward), dialogue type (options, npc, player etc), and emotion.
    • Includes a few safety checks such as resetting the facial animation column value if the user re-selects options dialogue message type.

I have a few more features I'd like to do, but if you have any suggestions then feel free to let me know!

    Spoiler for pics:

    Spoiler for gifs:

I'd like to see some pictures of an actual dialogue being opened by this tool. Can't judge much, poor imagination, lol.
Overall with improving and additional possibilities being added to the tool, this could very well be useful for other people. I often see people struggling with writing dialogues.. But of course that's only if you release it.
    Nonetheless good job.

Do you mean opening an existing script with this tool?

I meant displaying a long dialogue in the tool with all of its current possibilities (e.g player dialogue, npc dialogue, options dialogue, double dialogue etc); didn't notice the gifs at first (not sure if you added them later or I'm just blind) but those too only contain a few fields .

Yeah, I had meant to include a lengthier video it's just difficult doing it through gifs as I don't have any resonable screen recording softwares downloaded.

Based off what you've shown it looks pretty good. As above said it'd be nice to get an idea of more about it.

    Nicely done though.

You did a great job, would be great if you could release it as a tool for the Tokhaar community, like if they want to construct some sort of dialogues for custom content, quests, etc, they would be able to submit their own content.
    Once again, good job Mack.

Yeah, I'll get around to posting some better media. Thanks, Zivik.

This is primarily the reason why I made this tool! Thanks for the feedback, Delinquent.

Why not just append it to the Test.json file so you're not making a new file for every single dialogue? Wouldn't it be easier to load them all at once rather than multiple files unless you specifically need a seperate file?

what about when you need to split a dialogue off based on whether a player meets a certain condition (has item in inv, completed certain task, etc)
