    Java is a fantastic language, Low over head and used in almost every device you use on a daily basis, DvD players, Some smart tvs, Blackberry cell phones, Android adopted pieces of java into its language. I mean its fantastic just depends how you use it.

    Good read, I remember reading some of these a while ago in Effective Java. Still a lot of things I didn't know (especially about the bytecode changes in the non consecutive switch statement cases or however you'd word them) and in performance.
