Amazing news from a jmod which can easily mean that, if they completely get rid of the Java client, RSPS will grind down to a halt because it's so much more time consuming to engineer binaries to e.g. find packets...
This is very interesting. So when exactly will they start this?
Going by what happened with html5 (and practically anything else Jagex has updated), the new client won't work properly on a whole bunch of computers, and most people will stick with the Java client. No doubt, it will be several years before the Java client is phased out, if it is at all...
I think they will get rid of it due to the fact that C++ uses a fraction of the resources that Java does, and it preforms better in "high" graphical games. If they did indeed make a C++ their would be no point in keeping the Java client other than cross platform compatibility.
Not sure if you saw his reply but,
And about the engineer binaries it is MUCH harder if and or impossible to decompile C++. It's nothing like Java when it comes to decompiling it. In order to change anything we would have to use techniques like code injection (similar to what LoL bots do), and disassemble the code. Which would cause us to spend a lot more time identifying stuff, finding packets, and doing simple edits that we can do easily today.
