How To PortForward A Router So Peoples Can Play On Ur Server.
Description: How too portforward a router so peoples can play your Pserver :)
Difficulty: You rate it from 1-10 (Easiest to Hardest), in your opinion of its difficulty to complete.
Assumed Knowledge: You Have To Know What Router You Have. Example: Asus, Linksys, D-Link, etc...
Where too modify: Your Firewall, Internett & sharing center, Router and Network.
(I'm Sorry I Dont Got Any Pictures Of this, Though It Would Be Much Better With Em)
*Procedure*
Step 1: First off, If you dont know what router you have, Go to where your router is located in your home, it should stand there. If not, Go To your Network & Sharing Center And Press "Show Status". It Would Pop Up A New Little Neat Window, Press "Details", It Would Show a Whole Little Page Of Facts, Physical Addresses, IPv4, IPv6, DHCP Etc... Read Under Where It should Stand like this:-
IPv4 Standard Gateway 192.168.0.1 <- (This is for my router, it might be the same for yours) Now, Whatever IPv4 Standard/Default Gateway you have, Copy It Up To Your Webpage browser. Example It would look to me:
Also A little tip if you didnt understand what i said above, another way to find your
Standard/Default gateway is: Go to 'Start' And press 'Run' Type In 'cmd' (Cmd = Command) And then when the Black Prompt or what its called pops up, type in: ipconfig or ipconfig /all, doesnt matter, I prefer Ipconfig. Now
Ok, Heres the example: My Home Site/Starting Site is [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...] Erase that and Put the ip address you have Into where [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...] Stood before (192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1 or whatever you have.) Now when you press Go to, there will pop up a little box, Asking for password and account name. The usual Account and Passwords are Admin. Just try putting Admin as a user name and hit Ok, or put admin in both, or just the password. Also ive had a router that had the password '1234'. If you Wonder just go too: [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...] and go too the routers section and find your router, then down on the guide that comes up just search for the password and put it in.
Step 2. Now As your Into Your Router Theres So many Different routers, So Just Use [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...] to find out where you portforward, Example mine is in the advanced section, and some has the NAT Section and other stuff, its completely different too most routers. Now When you have Found that out, just portforward the Ports 43594, 80, 25, 5555 is alternative, depends on what port you run your server on. And Port 8245 for the no-ip DUC or port 80, You decide. Remember what i said about the IPv4 Addresses? Now Do the Start>Run>Cmd>ipconfig and search for the IPv4 Address your network runs on, not the Standard gateway, but the IPv4 address your network is on. It would be more numbers in it like this: 192.168.0.103 or like, 192.168.1.3 its random, Now Take that Ip as the Forwarding ip, dont use your external/standard ip cause that wont work.
Step 3. Now when you have done that, go too: [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...], Turn on your server, and check the port your running on, usually 43594, Type that into the box and press check. Now if there comes an error saying- Connection timed out, Or Connection Refused, it means your Isp ports 25, 80 is blocking it. Now go to your Network & Sharing center again, and press Customize/Adjust whatever it says! Now if your net is customized too Public, you have too change that too private, private is the type that lets other pces communicate with you. So when you have checked The private box, press 'ok' and then go too your Control Panel> Firewall. If its not turned on, turn it on in this case. Now press >Make An Exception and 'Add a Port', add The ports 43594, 5555 and Even 25, 80 if you wanna be completely sure. Now Run your server again, and go too [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...] and check the port 43594. - SUCCESS -
Congratulations, it should now be forwarded successfully and you should be able to have peoples accesing your server from now on!
