yes, you'll need a simple way to host a couple of files. shared webhosting wont cost but around $5/mo or you can spin up a linux box for $5/mo as well...
You both should refer to the FAQ on the download thread. I've answered this.
Please show the actual error.
I dont reccommend asking for help, had 2 dudes screw off on me trying, got the runelite running, just getting the "Unknown signal : TRAP" bs even though i covered and change every detail given, kinda pissed.
20+ hours of my time i wont get back lol
I got this running but trying to host it so my friends can come play with me, i set the World to LIVE instead of DEV and updated the IP's and set to offline mode to false, its still not connecting.
With all of the detail I've provided with this, it should take less than 30 minutes to have a dev world setup and running. I'm sorry that you aren't able to figure it out.
Setting the server to live will require some modification.
Either install xenforo and follow my other tutorial here: https://www.rune-server.ee/runescape...orld-list.html
Or you will need to have your own authentication method.
Good luck!
Would be nice for someone to just drop a working server link for localhost, idgaf about hosting i just wanna play myself xd
got everything working (update-server/runelite client, server is stuck on the :TRAP error
Hey man, I really appreciate all the work you put in and happy new year.
Just a suggestion; most people here are doing this is as a hobby and have no intent of paying for webhosting so suggesting people pay $5 to spin up a linux box/webhost is not exactly a solution for them. You should note in the FAQ that you can simply upload jav_config.ws to any direct link file hosting site and put the URL in ClientConfigLoader. It was obvious to me that that was possible but it might not be obvious to noobs setting this up, and the way you worded your comment made it look like you have to pay a few bucks to get this running.
Edit: To the person gettting bad code base error; my issue was the file hosting site I was using was changing my URL for some reason. You need to use a site that will keep your URL the same.
Hey, thanks for the tutorial really easy server to set-up.
Hey, I'm currently getting stuck here on Updating Client I can't figure out what I'm missing exactly here, the only error spilled out from the client is
Code:Caused by: java.lang.IllegalStateException: Expected a name but was NUMBER at line 1 column 90 path $.2.ge_limit
Any hint in the right direction?
Figured out the server.properties was missing within the updater
