You know that Javac converts String concatenation into StringBuilder usage, right? His database is most likely not normalised, but probably be due to some use-case specific optimisation, in which case it is perfectly reasonable to store the total XP rather than recalculate it (i.e, ranking by total XP). Despite it making more sense to use HTTP POST, don't be a retard and think his usage of HTTP GET is the end of the world; it's not. I agree that overall the code isn't amazing, considering people are still using sources and clients that're 10+ years old and written terribly, it's not too shabby. Instead of bitching about it, be the change that you'd like to see in this world - produce a better service or shut the fuck up.
The original source doesn't have all those StringBuilders that he posted. https://i.imgur.com/56u1kj1.png
That guy came onto this thread to just shitpost about trivial things, if he really wanted to contribute I would love that, I actually like it when people go through the source code and point things out, it helps me improve as a developer. But don't be an idiot about it.
Pointing things out that are non-existant, or things that are already being changed just to stroke his ego is completely childish.
This is why it's important to start conversations with people. This is not a dialogue, this is an attempt to attack my work.
And there it is, the ignorance of a person that thinks they are always right.
Nothing in all the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity. - Martin Luther King, Jr.
I won't be replying anymore, as you've shown yourself to be someone of low character that is unable to show any moderate amount of respect, or admit you're wrong.
if the code had StringBuilder or String concatenation to begin with it doesn't matter, we all write code then spend many moons going oh shit why did I do x like this and refactor 1000 million times, end of this petty rant please.
