Hello.
I've joined Ruse as a secondary developer and the Grand Exchange is one of our latest updates.
We've wanted to add a better market system for a long time now. Players shouldn't have to spend hours of their gameplay standing in a bank and yelling "Selling ####" and/or "Buying ####".
Looking at a lot of other 317 servers we've noticed how people are adding the Grand Exchange system in a half-assed way. We've also seen some servers try to implement other marketing systems, but we think that the Grand Exchange actually is a perfect solution to this problem and therefore decided to go with it.
Everything is working exactly like Runescape, including all interfaces.
We've even redone the original system a lot, to improve it and make it more fit to a RSPS. For instance, when selecting to buy or sell an item, it will let you know how much people are currently paying for that item. We have also made sure that players are unable to merch items by making multiple offers of the same item .
Features:
- All interfaces are 100%, including the progress bars.
- Original idea improved to work better for an rsps.
- Offers stored in a database (as they should be).
- Proper checks (100% dupe-free).
Note: As you can see in the gif below, base prices are not set on market items (items that cannot be bought from stores).
If anyone has any suggestions on how to improve it for an RSPS, feel free to post!
Nice work.
Impressive work
Decent, Good job man.
Been done plenty of times already, dont really see it worth a showoff anymore..
- The item results should default at the top instead of the bottom
- Items should have some 'average' or 'default' price, to serve as a guide
- Immediately notifying the supposed purchaser of the smallest price of an item can be a bad move, and it removes merching (Supposing this is done intentionally, I don't know know why you wouldn't want merchants)
- that border looks awful
The bar notifying a player how much of an item they have bought/sold is missing, and the quantity being in green looks weird (Not sure if this is done intentionally)- Are there any item caps?
- It'd be nice for the NPC to also have a 'history' option, where you can see what you have recently purchased and/or sold
Looks good though, especially of storing via database, allows players to purchase stuff websided too
Thanks for your feedback! Will make sure to take it into consideration.
Also, items which can be bought in stores (such as consumables, basic armour etc) do have base prices. We'll be implementing a system in the future which calculates the market price on other items though, depending on their offers in the Grand Exchange.
Item caps? Uhm, only items which cannot be searched for in the search interface are items which have the value 0 (example: untradeables, unused items in the game).
The font is not correct for the item search. And what does the 100% mean? You could never say 100% to runescape because it's not in the correct location at first place and also things like armour sets and history are a part of grand exchange.
