you want to pay people for work thats just gonna be open to everyone? Why not just ask for contributors instead of employees

Hi guys,
I am currently working on an exciting project based on ElvargPVP. Sadly there is too much for us to do alone and we need some extra help server side.
We have already fixed a few stability and networking issues, but we would like someone to come on and perfect combat (it's quite good already, but not perfect)
Perhaps improve stability and performance, this may be perfect for someone whos already worked on Elvarg before and maybe has a repo they can just dump loads of fixes in from.
Willing to pay good money for every PR which improves the base, combat, stability, bug fixes.
This project will be open source and will hopefully benefit the community in the future.
(I know Elvarg isn't everyones choice of base currently but its probably a pretty decent choice for 317 in terms of combat - starting from a barebones but stable base just wasn't viable for us)
Please reply here or hit me up on discord Tobias#5647

Not that many people will contribute publicly though. Most people will just take the open source stuff and work on their own stuff and keep it to themselves.
If people are explicitly paid to develop something, the incentive is the money, if it's being open sourced it's not a problem for them, means they could even re-sell it (knowing the kind of scum lurking in this scene).
Ideally though we'd all work on one server base together, but that's not really possible. Too many different visions, ideas on what the best/nicest/most convenient solution is etc etc. As far as I understand the server will be open source regardless, so those who will can contribute to it for free.
Also vouch for @RspsApp aka Tobias (and his "co-worker" @detuks). Very chill guys, does seem to know their way around code. Not additions to the pool of randies that come here from time to time just to try and leech and launch something half-assed! I especially like the TypeScript 317 client with WebGL they made!
Thanks man, really appreciate that vouch.
And yeah @Melvin, because incentive is a thing. I don't see anyone queuing up to contribute to Elvarg based source for free in 2022 unfortunately. This will be open source but thats irrelevant to whether the contributors will be paid.
Update: We now have 1 very good developer working on combat accuracy and timings! Thanks to anyone who reached out/spread the word. He's exactly what we needed.
Still got room for another developer for core stability improvements and other misc bug fixing (skilling etc).
The repo has already been open sourced FYI and all contributions (paid or otherwise) will be made there directly as PRs:
