Best of luck finding a team Stable

It can be harder finding experienced developers nowadays unless you're paying a bare minimum of $500 weekly, however you still might be able to get a good partnership going as Tech mentioned.

[QUOTE=Optimum;5714058]what fucking shit are you talking? it's 90% coding. It's not hard to market, takes 1 hour to set things up. Coders spend a lot more time coding than others spend marketing and other stuff

This is so untrue it's unreal. Development is yes A.(Harder) B.(More Important) But marketing is a constant daily grind.

    As opposed to developing?

There's no denying marketing is important, however don't confuse it with effort. Marketing is largely just setting up the initial thing and maintaining it later on(rsps marketing really doesn't expand, and there's so little you can actually do in it), development is a never ending grind. Once you've set up the marketing(bought ads, made deals with youtubers, perhaps bought some instagram rsps "models") - it's just talking to them every once in awhile and paying them when needed. This is not comparable to development in any way.

if you're the one who makes vids for the server like jaedmo did in ataraxia before, i can say that marketing is pain in the ass. but if you only pay a youtuber to make adds for you and pay some banners i can say that marketing is only 1%.

Marketing is not as hard as development but it takes time, it's not as easy as you'd think.
1- Paying Youtubers, Posting on Discord and general advertising that's the easiest.
2- But when it goes into a deeper section for example Google or Facebook, you need to pay attention and monitor your ads every day and optimizing it to keep track of your audience and also targeting it correctly because of how the nature of RSPS being soo niche that's what makes it hard, on the side note I'm not only going to be doing advertising that isn't as much "Time" to put, if the developer is putting 30+ hours a week worth of development, I better be putting 40+ hours a week to make his work reachable and also profitable.

I think you're only fooling yourself with that to be honest. You can put in lots of time to advertising needs but I honestly do not see it making any sort of a difference. RSPS marketing is niche and it's largely just word of mouth and loyalty. Putting your ads in places like social media can be more damaging than good, it'll put Jagex on your tail like a rabid jackal. There's a reason why our(re: zen) server never had any sort of issues with payment processors or Jagex, and we did just fine when it came to gathering crowds together either way. A large part of the server's lifetime, we were second on the only true toplist, despite our less than bad update cycles.

What you’re describing isn’t advertising, it’s throwing your money away.
If your role is advertiser, you’re expected to not only have ad accounts set up on every large platform for ads, but you’re also expected to set up a multitude of different campaigns and ad-sets, be able to install google analytics and Facebook pixel (and actually use this data), you’re expected to know how to target your campaigns, you’re expected to be able to scale the right campaigns, you’re expected to be in constant, daily contact with youtubers, website owners, partners and that’s just scratching the surface. I haven’t even touched on the constant back and forth with designers and team members/managers for creatives.

What Stable is offering is being the advertiser, AND the manager. Don’t even get me started on manager because that’s a bigger job than ads and development combined.

Programmers are usually up their own asses because they think they do the most important work, because learning the skill takes a massive chunk of your life. The key to a winning business is a solid team with members who actually know what they are doing in their field.

Also, there are multiple examples of why you SHOULD be utilizing social media to advertise your server. Runite did 1k+ on release day. Zenyte didn’t need as much of a boost as runite, because zenyte had been under public development for years.
