A few developers and I have recently been discussing building a platform to archive information as well as provide documentation on the RuneScape protocol. We need help though, in terms of moderation, contributions, and more. I'm working to get some large community leaders on board at the moment so that people who want to learn will know where to learn best. These forums have been great but they don't provide anything in regards to archiving. Additionally, information is not centralized as well as possible.

The main idea is to provide a platform where people can simply get information and data. The only ranks required will be those of moderators, and this is to ensure that the site isn't harmed by people making stupid edits to articles. This will require a staff team, though. This won't take much time, maybe 30 minutes a week per-person.

What we need is people to help contribute! A lot of us work full time jobs and do rsps work on the side so we don't have as much time as we need & I don't want the site to be left unattended.

If you're interested in helping out, contact me on discord (my link is below my user info on the side). I'm making this platform with the assumption that the community is willing to help progress each other. I hope this will prove to be true.

From a goal perspective, what do you plan to provide which the fandom doesn't already? Why not attempt to update/revive the fandom?

(P.S. This is simply playing devil's advocate. I fully support this idea, just a few curiosities)

I've always wanted somewhere to get me started in writing the cores of servers, not just content and generic code. Yes, we can read other servers and try emulate what they do but you never learn when copy and pasting. Explanations of "why this, why that" is definitely the key to understanding properly. Looks like you got the best minds in RSPS involved already too. I will definitely utilise this archive when its done. Thank you.

RuneDocs is looking for an illustrator to help bring the documentation to life and make it more approachable to newcomers. Paying for the work is definitely on the table, it should be noted that this work will be placed in the public domain after purchase for the rest of the communities usage.

If you'd like to take a lower cut for attribution on the RuneDocs website that would also be something we'd be interested in doing.
