IF you have no idea where to start, don't be afraid to check out some of these ruse/PI downloads like ascend. There's a lot of Elitism when it comes to which base to use, when the fact of the matter is that they all "work"

You'll find in a lot of the cleaner bases like Elvarg that things are handled much better and properly. But you'll have no idea in the world how to add content. Elvarg is bare. You have to write all bosses and minigames in yourself.

I would advise you to refresh yourself with a content-packed PI/Ruse base to see how this content is written and slowly start trying to work your way into a cleaner base.

If you want to download, work on it for a week or two and then host a cash grab, just don't it's a waste of time.

    Good luck man!

On the rsps timeline I didn't see ruse on there so I don't know how similar it is to elvarg. Are they somewhat similar or entirely different like back in the day?

Moreso wondering about a price for a nonfree base, to see if its worth going that route or spending my time adding to one.
Most developers worth their salt have their own bases, an average developer on here will charge $10 an hour, any good ones are charging $20+/h, premade content you'll find for $20+ depending what it it you're looking for, you're unlikely to find someone willing to take a % instead of actual $.
Ruse/elvarg are slightly similar, they share some common code, elvarg is cleaner but has no content.

Personally I don't think it's worth you spending money at this point in time, you're competing with people than drop $10k+ on a base & developers and same again on advertising. Like Patrity says grab a source and go, learn quick by failing quick, just avoid loosing too much money on day 1

Vencillio is a good one to look into.
In my opinion, I would stay away from Ruse, it is OK and all but Elvarg and Vencillo is just better.
On the subject of old bases and such, Hyperion was probably one of the best bases to ever be developed.
