    Hey!

(I do realize that by now you've probably noticed my extremely low post count and lack of any "reputable" statistics, however I do encourage you to continue reading.)

    What I'm Looking For:

(Note: ideally I'm looking for a person that meets ALL the criteria. If you are lacking many of them, it is probably wise for you to save your time and not bother asking me to be a business partner with you [This is not intended to be mean or to paint me as a jackass that doesn't believe in giving people chances, but time is of relative concern to me, so I cannot simply impart all my knowledge upon another person because they want to help me with this project)

    General Must-Haves:

    - A person with a strong learning capacity

    - A person that speaks very fluent English (THIS INCLUDES A STRONG
    UNDERSTANDING OF GRAMMAR )

    - A person that is intelligent*.

    - A person with exemplary communication skills

    - A person that has A LOT of time to invest in this project (This criterion is an extremely important one to meet)

    - A person with a strong understanding of Runescape. (I don't necessarily need you to know everything, but I ask that you don't apply if you don't believe your understanding is strong)

    - A person with the ability to GIVE and TAKE criticism. (You must be one that is capable of questioning things and giving your opinion and also one capable of being open-minded regarding the opinion of others)

    - A method to communicate via VOIP using their voice (The usage of voice may seem redundant, but remember that one can use certain VOIP clients to chat via text, TTS, etc.) [VOIP = Voice Over IP | Programs that enable this are ones like: Ventrilo, Teamspeak, Skype, Oovoo (although I refuse to use Oovoo).]
    - The embrace change

    * - See the section of the thread titled "intelligence" to get a better idea of what I mean by this.

    Good-to-Haves:
    - The ability to invest capital in this project. (when it becomes releasable, I don't want or expect you to spend even a penny before that)

    - Online customer support experience. (Examples generally being staff positions or responsibilities in other online communities)

    - Understanding of technology. (Technology refers in this case primarily to computer hardware, software, and networking)

    - Basic (or advanced) understanding of object-oriented programming and logic.

(May add more to this list as they come to my mind, but I will consider ANYTHING you'd like to tell me about yourself as a possible good-to-have [although this doesn't mean I will ultimately deem it to be a good trait].)

    Some Basic Facts About Me:

    - My name is Tyler

    - I live in New York (Eastern Standard Time | GMT -5)

    - I started my first Runescape private server ~5 years ago (Yeah, it was a pathetic mess and I didn't really understand anything, but I'm including this detail to act as proof of my exposure to the field)

    - I have taken and am still taking university-level technology courses (These include: Programming, Electrical Engineering (Primarily Digital Electronics), Computer Hardware, Networking, Design and Drafting [CAD])

    - I have a very strong knowledge of multiple programming languages including Java.

    - I have an extremely logical (this refers to hard, "irrefutable" logic, not some convoluted idea of what makes sense to me based on some nonsense that another person imparted on me) thought process.

    - I currently (as of 12/25/2012) do not have a job.

    - I am completely against bureaucracy

    - I have (and can prove beyond any level of doubt) been an extremely high-ranked staff members on numerous popular Runescape private servers (I've chosen to neglect mentioning names right now in order to avoid offending my former colleagues).

    - I have extremely liberal political views (I don't feel this should matter too much, but in case it does, I'm mentioning it).

    My Goal:

My goal is in essence very simple, but at the same time extremely vague: Success. Now you're probably saying, who consciously does something with the intention of failing? I'll give you the answer: nobody (Intentionally failing a test is still succeeding in accomplishing a goal). There are quite a few things I consider successful, and I'm really just looking to meet as many criteria as I can. I am very serious regarding this and am willing to go to extreme lengths (relative to what in my experience most others do) to achieve success.

To be a bit more specific as to my current idea for the premise of the server would be best categorized as: An old-school pking server with a strong economy. However, I'm not hellbent on that idea, so feel free to try to persuade me into another one.

    Trusting me:

I do realize that those of you that are reading this are probably thinking "Whoa, this is probably a bunch of bullshit because this guy has no posts or reputation," I am willing to do nearly everything within my power (that doesn't put myself or my family in a potentially dangerous situation) to prove that I am who I say that I am. I ask that you simply give me the chance to speak to you before deeming that I'm unworthy.

    *Intelligence:
For the sake of explaining what I meant in the "Must-Have" section of the thread, I will provide you with the following. When speaking, I generally consider there to be three main "branches" of intelligence (I'd greatly appreciate suggestions as to a better way to articulate this without using the word intelligence): intelligence, intellect, and knowledge.

I simply define the three as:

Intelligence: n; The ability to process information.
Intellect: n; The desire to acquire (and generally retain) information.
Wisdom: n; The quantity of information an entity possess.

While those definitions may not meet the denoted definitions as per a dictionary, that's almost always what I refer to when I use those three words.

    Contacting Me:

In order to ensure that I will see your proposal, you must contact me via Rune-Server PM or by posting on this thread (I prefer the PM though). However, I am reachable on Skype and MSN (however I'm not usually on MSN much; I will use it more if you so request me to do so).

    Skype Username:

    Code:
    T_Burkey
    MSN Email Address:

NOTICE: I have not included any sort of "application format" or list of things that I ask that you tell me about yourself within your proposal. I'll provide you with this as a general rule of thumb though: do not aggrandize yourself with false pretenses as your only backing (Basically, don't tell me that you've been Co-Owner on say... the original Deltascape UNLESS you can prove it). I am extremely interested to speaking with anyone that would like to engage in conversation, so don't hesitate to contact me.

I did not spend too much time organizing this in a manner that is visually appealing to people (generally meaning I neglected to use a different color for every other letter). I also realize that this thread may contain typographical errors and if it does, please inform me of them at your earliest convenience so that I can fix them.

I also acknowledge that some of the punctuation within the thread is somewhat inconsistent regarding the placement of periods in or outside of parenthesis and/or brackets, so please just ignore that.

If anything doesn't make sense to you regarding this thread, ask about it and I'll do my best to explain it.

As with the others that posted praise for my thread, I wish to offer you my thanks for bestowing such a compliment upon me.

    Note:

To make this post less useless, I will mention that I am still looking for a partner (or partners). Remember, contacting me via Rune-Server PM or Skype is preferable.
