I love when OSRS servers add content that isn't in OSRS. Great job implementing dungeoneering :)

we've been focusing on fixing ingame issues, hence why we haven't been posting as many updates. We don’t want to show content that's been talked about already, when it's just a bug fix here or there.
We now also have RS3 support on Bitrune. RS3 will be used sparingly and won't replace anything from OSRS.
Image inside spoiler is indeed RS3 Lumbridge in OSRS; while it's still a concept and not a replacement, it shows proof of concept.
Spoiler for RS3 Support:
Pyre Ships now available on Bitrune!

Striving towards a 1:1 Barrows experience, so far so good:

Sorceress's Garden minigame has also been added to Bitrune now:

Our web and graphics team has been working hard simultaneously on the Bitrune's website; optimized for mobile & tablet view aswell. Some preview images can be seen below:
Spoiler for Website:
This is just amazing. Definitely a highly developed server with a skilled developer behind it all. The community it has so far is fantastic and I'm super looking forward for bitrune:)

Progress is coming along nicely. A bunch of Skilling updates, every single ladder or stairs are automated to work so no more annoying no-clips or the famous nothing interesting happens notification, A ton of agility shortcuts have been added as well.
Trying to bring you the most 1:1 OSRS experience.
The most outstanding update from these few days is the 1:1 Tears of Guthix minigame!
Spoiler for Tears of Guthix:
We also have a set of Staff/Rank forum userbars to showcase! Designed by myself, trying to stay minimal while implementing the logo theme (look: portal) and still delivering quality.
Spoiler for Userbars:
There's way more updates that we do not display here since they are additions or fixes here and there not worth showcasing. Though if you're interested in knowing them, make sure to join our discord to get the most latest and exclusive sneak-peeks!
Amazing userbars. Very well done @[Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]! Happy to see BitRune with someone of your caliber (y)
Would be epic to see prifddinas from high rev since you already have rs3 suport. Might take a while to get it visually good but it's a very nice city to consider (not saying remove osrs).

This project seems like it has plenty of talent behind it, although these quotes do bring rise to some questions imo. Are these the kind of things that draw players to a RSPS? Its interesting to me too see projects with such clear programming talent pursue essentially a 1:1 replication of the original game. Not only does the age old argument of why play this over OSRS become apparent, but a more recent question of what separates this from Alora, Zaros or Zenyte? The OSRS argument has many potential answers, but I struggle to see many to the latter. Although bug ridden and poorly managed, those servers with a twist on the original game were what brought players to RSPS. Its the game they played or still play but with new aspects they've never seen and probably will never see in the original. How many RSPS players want to grind an entire 1:1 barrows run? Most barely even want to have to kill all 6 npcs, let alone work through the tunnels and solve puzzles.Quote:

Maybe I felt compelled to respond to this because I had the same mentality when writing Rigour back in 2016. I wanted to replicate the OSRS content I enjoyed 1:1, for nostalgia and in hopes of the success that I'd seen Alora gain. I've since come to realize, if you have the programming talent and really love building out these vanilla features why not just apply to the real deal? It seems like an awful lot of work and dispense of programming talent to recreate the wheel that has been recreated a couple times already. What does this offer that the others don't? If the answers is little to none, then the already split player base of 1:1 OSRS servers splits yet again. Continuing to dwindle the scene, and from a business perspective, continues to dwindle at profits.
I hope you all can take this as some feedback and best of luck with your project!
Thank you for your feedback. If you solely look at those 2 quotes of mine, it could give you a wrong impression of where the server is headed. Bitrune is not a full 1:1 osrs replica. However, osrs features are 1:1, in the sense of that its mechanics are the same. Of course, they are tweaked to rsps standards such as faster exp and/or better drops, etc. Current pure osrs servers advertise their game with 1:1 content but in reality they are not really 1:1 (mechanic wise). We, Bitrune, provide our players an OSRS experience with rsps standards. Now what makes us different is for example that we also offer pre-eoc features such as full dungeoneering, stealing creation etc. There’s no OSRS ps with full dungeoneering. We also have rs3 support which allows us to have rs3 lumbridge for example (not replaced but it gives us the possibility to have them).Quote:

Not to mention that Bitrune already has an android mobile client and most probably will also have an IOS client (which no server has as of right now).
In contrary to what most servers claim, we’ll have an actual community polled system for new content that has a derived audience.
Any other questions you may have are welcome, I’ll gladly respond to them :)
Cjay has already started the process of this :DQuote:
