Thanks again for the support everyone! I've updated the project thread a little bit. I'm being lazy on listing current and future progress on the main post, but I'll get to it soon enough. Here's the latest updates I've applied:
- Random Event Integrity
- Ensured that random events were well timed, and non-intrusive (i.e, not too many)
- Ensured experience lamps work properly with new interface
- Ensured animations, flow of random events were precise
- Fixed some viewport problems
- Objects clearing/constructing based on region interactions from other players
- Implemented Camera movement with the middle mouse wheel
- Implemented system to zoom camera in/out and verified if a scrollbar was present or not (scrollbar being present does not allow you to zoom in/out)
- Identification instead of cleaning herbs, included proper text (searched youtube for proper text)
- Integrity of skill dialogues (make-1, make-x, etc) including item zooms
- Added a simple resource casket event with rewards that can assist player, to be polled in future
- Added character design interface and it's related incoming packet handler
- Implemented simple "tutorial" or starter handler, based on items received in original game
- Fixed problems with shop restocking
- Fixed problems with banking/noted items
- Quest integrity
- Ensured all quest interfaces, strings were correct
- Still need to discover cutscene packets
- Any quest that is not added has been "crossed" out, showing only the available quests in the quest tab
- Removed a ton of dead or useless code
- Including but not limited to: Artificial Intelligence (bots), achievement diaries, summoning, unused scripts, tutorial island (decided against having this, for multiple reasons), skillcape perks, donation ranks & perks, previous resource caskets, skilling pets, etc. Basically any code that doesn't fit the 464 revision, or was in need of a rewrite.
- Refactored a lot of code
- Rewrote interface manager system
- Fixed some problems with ground items, and NPC drops (bones being the first item on a pile, etc)
- Fixed a host of problems with dialogue post-conversion
- Added deposit inventory/equipment buttons to the bank interface, as well as a available space string. (QOL updates such as these will be polled in the future)
Thanks for tuning in today! I hope to have another update post in the near future for ScapeOS.
This is a good looking project. The vanilla projects are the ones that attract me the most. The development is nice so far. Keep it going.
Love remakes, love when the team stays dedicated and looks amazing. Arios was one of my first projects that I actively played and would love to see something close to that come back into the scene.
