I'm using a Ruse base and editing it from there. I am the only one coding on this server and only have 1-3 hours a day to do so. This project will take a long time. I'm not really in a rush.
Also, I do not have the most experience in doing this so you'll see me being pretty active in the "Help" section of these forums as I learn more about coding RSPS.
My thesis:
RSPS lack depth in their skills. While playing on a few RSPS over the years I feel like developers get a bit lazy and just put shops in with items then have a few bosses and PVP.
I've never felt like skills generated any value to any RSPS that I've played on. The ways of making money were always PvP, PvM, and merchanting.
My goal:
-Players run the economy! There will only be a shop that sells basics similar to a general store. Player Shops will house the majority of the items that are for sale.
-Skills are important! All armor and weapons for each combat type that are level 60 and below can be made with resources by the player. No PvM necessary.
-Rework every "useful" skill to be even more in-depth than they may have been in the actual game. Including but not limited to smithing Dragon armor, crafting Mystic robes, etc.
-Create less gaps in armors for each combat style.
-Even out boss loots better for each location. Example: Each God Wars boss should have similar loot.
-Fix things that have always bugged me. Why is there not a GWD set of Mage robes?
-When players die I don't want them to lose their items. Mostly because this leads to a feel bad situation for all parties involved and I just want people to have fun. (Drop rarity will be tweaked.)

-9/9/18 - Remove Barrows armor from the game. Doesn't fit into what I'm trying to do. Possibly use the armor elsewhere in game.

-Add level 70 mage robes as a drop from ZGWD. (Likely re-colored Ahrims stats adjusted)
-Add level 70 tank armor as a drop from SGWD. (Likely re-colored Guthans stats adjusted)
-Rework mage robe requirements. Make mage robes that span levels 1/10/20/30/40/50/60/70/80+
-Add seeds/flowers/cloth to make Mage robes.
-Rework range armor requirements. Make range armor that span levels 1/10/20/30/40/50/60/70/80+
-Dragon Claws to be changed into something requiring 70+ attack.
-Turn Slayer into a Boss fighting skill. Slayer tasks feel too grindy for a RSPS. More people would rather fit bosses and level up than grind out small monsters.
-All armor and weapons that are level 70 and above are to be dropped by an NPC with a possibility of needing a skill to attach pieces together. (example: Godsword and DFS)
-Each boss has a "loot crate" as a rare drop instead of each individual drop. Example an Armadyl Loot Crate may contain Armadyl Hilt, Armadyl Chestplate, Armadyl Chainskirt, Armadyl Helm, Etc. This allows for people to stock up, buy, sell, and trade loot boxes.
Please constructive criticism only. I know many people do not like custom servers, but I feel like most RSPS lack in the skilling department. That, for me, is my favorite part of Runescape.
