    Although I'm not an alpha tester, I have been seeing the organized games and comments about the server and honestly, it's looking so nice. So much thought and time is being put into this.

    Unfortunately, this project isn't gaining much traction. It was an experiment to see how a battle royale would function in an MMORPG like RuneScape, and it doesn't seem like that ended up having a good result. When we started this project some months ago, we started it with the hope that the battle royale aspect of the server would turn out to be intriguing to the point where it would have a lot of experimentation. What the result was, however, was a little hype at the beginning and eventual demise of that hype. This was evident in our alpha tests, where we went from 11 player games to 2 in a matter of just 3 days. Our project thread ended up only having comments on its first day, and the other days having no comments at all. The lack of activity proved to just be, ultimately, emotionally taxing to myself, which leads to this message.

    As a server, I fully take responsibility for choosing such a terrible base (Ruse) and not taking the right action to change the base when we had lesser content. This lack of being proactive on my part ultimately led to two aspects of the server being very, very poor: pathfinding and combat. I under-minded these very, very important aspects of a battle royale just for not wanting to switch bases since "so much work has already been done." The correct action would have probably been to find another base with better pathfinding/combat, but that is easier said than done. I can't think of a server that meets those qualifications besides higher revisions. However, choosing a higher revision would ultimately have led to changes in the client being very hard (as this server has a lot of client modifications).

    The content we made for this server was quite the feat in my humble opinion. We managed to shift RS to be a centralized minigame. We wrote a lobby system, making defence be a skill on top of hitpoints like Fortnite, a storm system, a spectating system, a unique spell system, a system for Discord Rich Presence, sending minimaps from the server to the client, game population (the items and such spawning around the map), rewriting a new dialogue system, having an interactive choosing of locations for where to go in a game, full in-game and forums account linkage, full discord and in-game linkage, and probably some smaller details I've missed.

    Making an entire server out of a minigame is a big challenge. It's a longer task not because it has more content, but less resources. We were forced to choose either a base that may potentially have bugs or bases that had no combat, and when one's mind is in the state to get a server out "as soon as possible," one's more inclined to the former. The major bugs were that choice's consequences; however, I feel Tyb and I handled the smaller bugs quite swiftly (fixing almost all the bug reports in a mere 2 days). Making a profit is also a big task since Fortnite is really the big business model for you (being a free to play game). Having purely cosmetic effects don't really work out that well in RSPS, though. There are just so many small factors that just add up to the difficulty of centralizing a server to a singular minigame.

    Ultimately, this was an experiment. Was this a poorly executed experiment in your opinion? Do let us know, but I don't see this idea being continued in RSPS by me personally. Perhaps we may see a continuation of this server I envisioned should someone purchase it.
