I don't know about everyone else, but I'm getting kind of sick of all the same type of RSPS. What I'm working on has its roots in RSPS but with various different aspects and quirks. I realize this project may not get any players at all, but that's not why I'm doing it. I choose to do this for pure enjoyment. I see it as a way to create an RPG rather than just an online RSPS. I emphasize how important it is to take my time and do everything right and bug free. The little details matter to me, and although this may seem like a big waste of time to most people, i don't really care.
The following features have been implemented:
Guilds are actually a useful part of the game, and require a 99 in a stat to enter.
Training is somewhat difficult but no where as slow as Runescape
Your starter is low, 50 coins (which actually goes fairly far) a gas mask, and a extra backpack for extra storage (used a grain bag, and bonesack)
10 skills that are truly beneficial to the player and the economy
Every item is worth some value and no item is "worthless"
Good use of the whole Runescape map, every area has its uses and is worth traveling to for different reasons
Certain areas of the map are inaccessible unless you are wearing proper clothing, example: toxic parts of the map you need a gas mask or you take damage
In the desert if you wear white clothing (reflects the sun) you consume less water, and cacti can be cut open to refill your waterskin
Various crates all over the map that you can "scavenge" through and find something useful or needed for survival
Npcs that are not attack-able can carry out conversations and give you tips on surviving in the wastes
Various traveling methods and unique ways to get around, Example: Ship, magic, canoe, and by foot
Strong economy that relies on players to skill and PVM to keep money circulating
Features yet to come:
Market system-
Basic explantion:
An NPC is the middle man, you can talk to the NPC to put items on the market. You click on
the NPC and hit trade. Then a screen pops up saying what items you'd like to put on the market.
To put an item on the market, click the item once, then a chat box will open up saying the price
you wish to sell it for. Others may right click the NPC and hit the option talk and it will show
all items for sale on the market at that moment. It will say the name of the item and the price the
other player listed it for. To buy the item simply click on the name and you must have the cash
of how much its worth.
Loyalty system:
The more you play the more points you gain. Every hour is 15 points, a shop is available to spend the points.
Membership system:
Access to member only dungeons and monsters, items, and more.
Faction system:
You pick one faction to ally with, all others become hostile and if you enter their territory you will be at their mercy. However, the faction you side with will give you quests and you gain access to their shops which has unique items per faction.
Day & night cycle, most NPCs become aggressive at night.
