Introduction
After almost exactly one year we're back. Not on a 317, not on a Winterlove based server, but on a server based on RS2-Server. As many of you already know, this base uses the 474 protocol.
Our Goals
Other than a lot of other projects out here, my goal is not to re-create RuneScape. Simply, because it would take too long doing it all myself.
After spending a lot of time thinking about the server, I finaly came up with a lot of ideas. With those ideas, I should be able to create a nice server with an unique atmosphere.
My goal is to create a server, with a nice community, and a perfect balance between Player versus Player and the training of skills.
Other than that, I hope we are able to run the server on a professional way and keep all our players satisfied.
What will the server be like?
I will try my best to make the server enjoyable for everyone. With that I mean, close to perfect skilling and close to perfect combat.
The players that prefer skilling, can enjoy the awesome skills. And the players who enjoy PvP more than skilling, should have a look in the Wilderness for some competition.
How will the economy be?
Balanced! Hopefully... Not a rich economy, nor a poor economy. So that means that it shouldn't be too hard for new players to make some money. But yet, the money the got they should care off.
I was thinking of selling the basic items in the stores, up to Runite. And Dragon items can be obtained from NPC drops, and some Dragon weapons can be bought in the guilds which require a skill requirement.
Other than that, the "better" items, like Dark Bows, Godswords, Whips, Dragon Chainmails, Barrows etc. have to be obtained like they have to on RuneScape.
What will be the Home?
There won't be a real home area. We will make use of serveral areas to create a "home".
However, there will be 1 central point. Out here, you can travel to other areas but obviously it's not possible to train all your skills here...
Server development
Don't expect the server to be released very soon. I'm not rushing the project in any way. And yet I have a fulltime job. But in my spare time I will work on the server of course!
Credits
All the credits go towards the team that created RS2-Server and Hyperion. But other than that,
I would like to thank
[Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...] a lot for providing me his skills and some other things. I had not the time doing it all myself.
He provided me some very good work.
Thanks!
