Hello, im thinking of starting a rsps. I have had a couple back in 2011-2015 and that was it. I remember I used to put the source in dropbox and code there and i would also have dropbox downloaded on my VPS so the source would update. It was painful haha.
I am wondering, how do you guys do? do you code directly in vps and just update or do you have any great tips on how to do it?
And do you guys still even use dropbox for cachedownloading and etc? I have been out of the game for 6 years now I have forgotten alot and missed out on alot aswell.
Please give me great advice, whatever it is you have on your mind.
    Thanks

I'm not a developer or anywhere near that, so I can't give you any advice on how to code etc.
What I can do is (very important aswell) link to you a thread on an external platform where you can read about attracting players to your server:

yes people still do program on the vps, you're not supposed to though because it's a dedicated server and any activity introduces any unnecessary strain / possible crash, actual programmers will use a dedicated version control system like git and push changes.

people also still use dropbox because it's simple, but you should really have a dedicated file server, this might be part of an already existing web server or separate (the client can already do both anyway) that gives you complete control over distribution and makes it easier to update

Code a 667 and u don't need to download the cache, they all have an update server.
Also use git for keeping ur server up to take with ur code changes.

use github, it directly integrates within intelliji making it super easy to git push/pull/commit etc
