Woodcutting

Been trying to figure out how woodcutting action works, which in turn would allow me to understand the action system more in depth.

When woodcutting you have a chance of receiving a log every 4 ticks, however when first interacting with a tree you have a chance at receiving a log after 2 ticks, and it then delays the action by 4 ticks.

Which can be seen(notice how the axe anim twitches at the second tick, which tells me the action is restarting at that point):

However, if you spam click a tree, it seems to reset the action every 3 ticks

Which confuses me, what the fuck is going on?
