Hey guys, Yesterday made my entrance back into the rsps scene
I had stopped coding and messing with servers for over 10 years.
So I Decided to go with elvarg to relearn but I'm not sure I've made the right decision. (note: I want a #317/something thats similar to runewild) and
Eclipse wasn't a thing 10 years ago so getting used to it is gonna take me a bit.

    Any suggestions ?

All 317s are poorly coded, if you want to learn something it is probably better to use something else.
Also, I would recommend using IntelliJ over Eclipse.

Apollo needs a lot of work though, probably not a good starting point for a beginner.

Build using the OSRS client/protocol. 317 is a pretty outdated client/protocol. If you use the OSRS client you don't have to pack data, can use OSRS interfaces, support RuneLite/Mobile and more.
A lot of servers however still run on 317 because it is difficult to upgrade to the OSRS client. All OSRS servers that are released don't really have a lot of content though.
The best option currently for OSRS servers is probably my open source server OldScape: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]. It has most essential features but no skills and limited combat.

Forgot to mention guthix is written in kotlin.
OT: Apollo isnt very beginner friendly and I have absolutely no idea why anyone would recommend it for beginners; let alone practical use for hosting (if the purpose was to host). I recommend you siphon through pure osrs builds and not anything built on the 317 protocol.
