    No source is beginner friendly. If the guy wants to learn he should learn from the best, not learn wrong but easy habits.

    True that, I'm currently using bart's source.
    Managed to set up the source and run it but still can't connect to the client feels like im connecting to the real osrs instead of the source.
    It's really complex and hard just doing that but i love it, I know that i'll eventually get there with lots of practice

    I used Ruse to learn, as someone else mentioned definitely use intellij. If you're wanting to really learn though you should do some free courses and watch videos that teach you, just use google to find it all "Free java courses" for example. It took me a bit just to realize how useful it is to simply google any issues I'm having, 9/10 I could solve after reading a stackoverflow thread or some other information on my issue/what I was trying to learn.
