I've downloaded the source 2006redone and it's a bit weird. You were right to change server.Server to redone.Server. I have no idea why your client isn't starting, it should work fine (does it work outside of eclipse). With this server you need to make sure you run the file server before anything else otherwise the game server and game client will timeout requesting data.

Personally I'd remove all the old .classpath and .project files and import it into a new project from existing sources.

you mean import into eclipse after removing those files and upload as a new project?

Yeah maybe the settings the guy is using are broken because the server .bat files definitely are. I don't know what your issue with build.bat is (apart from by the looks of it javac++. jar is some shoddy tool and not a substitute for a proper build tool). The client .bats look fine, I mean they're technically questionable but they should work.

when i removed those files then reuploaded, i get Could not find or load main class redone.Server now. this is frustrating

Also under file server folder, when i do start.cmd i get "Error: Could not find or load main class org.apollo.jagcached.FileServer" but when i configure to the correct main class, the configure also configrues the server initiate.bat which i dont want it to do.

Ok so you have three projects. File server. Server and Client.

Using eclipse click on the file server folder, then go to Run -> Run configurations -> Select main class -> whichever is top can't remember name.

Do the same for the Client and Server and that should fix the eclipse run path.

The top for me now when i click search for main class is "Sever - redone" but thats because thats the class name atm. The second is some random "DOM2XmlPullBuilder"

Solved issue was related to build path in eclipse.
