Elvarg, if not PI

Elvarg, if not PI
U want a newer look or older also do u want lots of content or a clean server and client
What can be recommended kinda depends on how familiar you are with the programming languages Java and Kotlin to be honest..
If you don't really mind core stability I'd recommend Ruse or PI as there are A LOT of resources on those bases due to A LOT of people using them..
If you go long-term and want OSRS emulation? Pick a deob!
And for long-term 317 I'd say Elvarg but that base needs A LOT of work before even being considered host-ready... or Apollo/Arios-converted but these 2 are rarely ever used.
When you say, Pick a deob, I assume go to the osrs archive and pick a cache version there? I have downloaded the latest cache from the OSRS Archives thread in the Downloads section, This in its self isn't the client is it? Do I then need to find a suitable client to use it with?
Further say I get a client, running this cache. I then need to find an appropriate source/server? Elvarg would be a good choice then?
Sorry for the vague questions, haven't been messing with private servers since PI was at its peak lol.
Thanks for the informative reply though dude!
A deob is a server that uses a deobfuscated client of OSRS... so you literally just try to emulate OSRS as good as possible.
Examples for this are Hyperion and Vorkath.
You don't "run a cache", a cache holds most information/assets of the game such as models/animations/maps/sounds and sprites.
You run a server/client, client is what the players will use in the end and the cache is what will be downloaded to grab all the game assets.
Thanks for the reply, yeah I understand the concept of the cache/client/server despite not making that very clear. I have downloaded a copy of the OSRS release Anguish. Despite it taking over 1 minute to actually run the server I will try to familiarise myself with this, is this client an example of a deobsfucated client of OSRS? and is the server suitable also?
Use https://www.rune-server.ee/runescape...e-release.html
My own released base which is made for beginner people to use.
