Im trying to host my server on no-ip only to play with close friend irl. I looked for tutorials, read some on the forum and its clear, i did same steps but cant see my port openned. I oppened it on my firewall and on my router. Now im clueless to what to do because its not working. im turning my fate on someone if you can help me.

    1. you need a static ip, cmd -> ipconfig -> get ur ipv4 address, subnet mask, and default gateway

netowkr & internet -> change adapter settings -> internet protocol ipv4 -> use the following ip adress

put in ur ipv4 address, subnet mask, and default gateway

for dns use: 8.8.8.8 and alternate : 8.8.8.4

    2. go to router and then advanced settings, click on dynamic DNS, choose no-ip option, put in your no-ip info like username and pass

Hard to do port forwarding wrong though... All you do is telling your router where it should send the external traffic to on your local network. So when you port forward, you specify the IPv4 of your local server and the service's port (usually 43594 for RSPS). How to do this depends on the router and it's software.

While not very common, at least not in my experience, sometimes you also (as you mentioned) need to allow the service through the firewall(s) on the port(s) you forward.

Also as socklol said, it's not necessary with a static IP, but it's very convenient to have one. Don't define that on the server itself, do that in the DHCP (usually controlled by the router as well). If you manually specify it on your local computer, you might end up with an IP conflict because the router decided to lease that IP to another device.

If your ISP didn't provide you with a static WAN IP, you might have to keep your no-ip hostname up to date. You can use services like [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] to check your WAN IP. This is the IP address your friends will use to connect to your server. However, since you want to use no-ip, you use that WAN IP for the hostname you setup.

If you need a step by step guide on how to forward ports on your network, you need to provide us with more details. Like router model and software version.
