under addItemToRunePouch
To simply debug this, why don't you call System.out.print("Method name here called"); (Obviously replace method name) with the method you're putting it inside of, then inside the game insert more than 1000 runes into the pouch and see which method is called.
That will narrow it down to which method(s) is/are being called
