people spend months perfecting their server and working on it, they don't want the risk of it being shared.

Primarily don't work with randoms. Otherwise, designate jobs and send only the files that need working on each time. Takes a little longer but at the cost of securing your source, there's no comparison.

Play your cards safe and see how they also perform, had many experience of people wanting to do shit then they do absolutely nothing at all and go MIA (counting 9 projects in total)
doubt anyone here is capable of writing an NDA that is legally binding

An NDA will not hold up in court for an RSPS. Youre already dealing with copyright infringement with RuneScape's Client.

That's related to client and the assets that it posses, agreed on that term.
The server framework isn't really given an initial value if it's scratch or built on top of a base.
Should the framework be made from scratch and the developers call for a NDA (server and or client) the terms must be met.

I've said it before, it may have been to you but I can't be bothered to check through my posts; if a stipulation of working with you is that the developer will have to work on individual files, you are guaranteed to get incompetent fucking idiots and nothing else.

Do you think software developers at tech firms go into work at 9am and their boss brings them a USB containing the one or two classes they're going to be working on that day? Get a grip.

You seriously think an NDA can hold up in court over runescape, everything in a source would be trademarked. names of npcs, skills, everything in the source regardless of "code" its infringed lol
