Hey, I'm not sure this is the right place to post this question, but...

For some reason I can't play any private server, beceause the jar file won't open...
It does not recognize that I have java installed, if I try to open with... and go in to my c drive and try to select java it just doesn't add it :/

    What should I do?

I tried deleting java completly and downloading it again but that didn't help

    Thanks in advance

Delete every single java related install from your pc.
Restart windows (so if you have windows10 it finally actually fully reboots)
Reinstall LATEST java, allow it to automatically adapt to all associated files.. if nothing boots up, right click the file and run with javaw.exe

    Good luck

Run it in a batch file.

    Java -jar NAME.jar
    pause

Just to be sure, you aren't attempting to play on a mac right? If so, simply drag the jar to your desktop, do ctrl + click it, and then confirm you want to open. It is a firewall thing on mac.

You need to set the Java environmental variables. Check this Stackoverflow post out.

If worse comes to worse you can run a jar through command line like this:
    Code:
    "C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre1.8.0_161\bin\java.exe" -jar jarname.jar
If this doesn't work then something might be wrong with your Java installation.
