some info on servers shutdown in 2013

pims resume and portfolio

if hes grossing over $1M+ annual revenue. $100,000 is only 10% of his annual revenue so why would he shutdown the server??? either jagex only let him have the server up for a few years and when contract runs out he has to shut it down or they asked for a big sum of money way more than $100,000. that's very fishy to me, somethings not right.
notice on pims portfolio he says legal "My team ran the largest legal RuneScape Private Server network in history."
Explain how it has "the worst plugin system out of any private server ever created". Being too dumb to comprehend the full functionality of the system isn't a valid excuse either.
Do you even understand the purpose of plugins? It's to separate content and the core features needed to run the server. This allows for versatility as well as reloading content on the fly (hot-fixing), which is exactly how Arios's plugin system was designed. Now Arios may not have the best plugin system, but clearly you must be mental to think it has the worst out of any private server, and unless you stop hiding behind your alt account, no one is gonna take the shit you say seriously.
neither of these things have anything to do with the question posed by OP
the osrs team have openly admitted that they wouldn't consider hiring anyone from an RSPS background, citing trust issues as the reason
their current business model would never permit third party servers
do it urself
that's the point of open source
actually if you knew anything at all about what you're talking about you would be aware that A* is a generalisation of dijkstras, that uses heuristics as part of edge weighting, to achieve greater performance (i.e. dijkstras is an implementation of A* where the heuristic cost is always set to 0). So using A* over Dijkstras makes sense in every possible context. the client also just does a bfs, not dijkstras

If you do pick apollo, I would wait till the branches get merged into master(or do it yourself), some key features and fixes including Kotlin based plugins. Would most likely update Apollo to use OSRS protocol and get the benefits of entirely server side pathfinding amongst other things, or better still use scape-emu.
Someone already released Apollo with the OSRS client:
