What era of RuneScape are you wanting to attempt to re-create?

I've been thinking about this inside my head for a good while now. So the thing is that I need something to learn with and I have ended up with the desision of creating an RS remake. Now the actual question is, what kind of source should I start to work on? There is loads and loads of hate posts on some, such as PI and Delta, so could someone assist me on picking a good one?

The 474, 2007 looks really awesome in my opinion. Also the 718 is in my mind but I've heard it wouldn't be very good for an amateur.
Any opinios in starting out with a clean/blank 718? Any chance of learning that way?
