RSPS are indeed, illegal, against JaGeX's terms.

Hey guys,
Quick question here; I wanted some clearance..
From what I've found on Google, I understood that hosting a RSPS is actually illegal.
But in an old thread on Rune-Server, I found that you're not sueable when you don't host your client on your website.
Is this true?
Thanks in advance!!
This is false.

Mm. Perhaps it can be the fault of like Dropbox or something if you hosted a download there or something because it's their fault for allowing copy righted things, but if you have that link on your site or something, you might be considered as an affiliation or something. Idk, just an opinion tbh
BUMP
I want a clear answer, please! I don't want to risk my life running a RSPS lol..
Yes, it is illegal to host a RSPS. But your not risking your life. Jagex won't sue a person who hosts a server has a very small amount of players and if you do get around 100 - 300+ players they will send you warnings that will allow you to shut your server down before they take more action. However, there are some people who have received these warnings but still carried on hosting their servers and they managed to stay up.
Yes it's copyright infringement and they can shut you down but the chances of getting sued are low. This kind of conversation belongs to/can be found on http://www.rune-server.org/runescape...g-servers.html
