If you are searching for 317, try Project Insanity [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

Because this server is 317, you will learn how to make it PI and fix many things like pest control atleast.. I used this firstly and now working in my ownr server

    Wish you the best..

Do not look at Project Insanity if you are trying to learn Java through an RSPS. I would suggest looking at Hyperion. It's highly documented and the code is written just as you would find in any company developing Java.

    Thanks for the reply ,
First question: should i use a clean or developed hyperion source?
Question 2: ok i've downloaded hyperion but i have no coding skills what should i start doing?
Question 3: some people told me to use apollo? Which 1 is better for learning coding?
    Thanks again

In all honestly, if you're just starting out with programming, I wouldn't be using any source at all. Start by learning the basics of Java through online tutorials ([Only registered and activated users can see links. ], or [Only registered and activated users can see links. ], or any of [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]). Once you learn the basics, you can start looking around at an rsps source and get the feels of what's going on and how to modify it. It can be a fun way to progress your knowledge, but don't let it hinder your progress. I'd still suggest reading up on networking, concurrency, and some more advanced programming techniques. Also, take a look at how the Runescape protocol works, there's some pretty good documentation in the informative thread sections on this forum and [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]. Once you have a good understanding of Java and the Runescape protocol, you can do so much more and you'll have a lot more fun modifying a server than you would have if you just followed tutorials related specifically to private servers.

    1. Doesn't really matter if you're just trying to learn Java.
    2. I'd suggest downloading an IDE (such as Eclipse or Netbeans) if you don't already have one installed and read some tutorials on how to make it compile your source code and run the server.
    3. Apollo generally requires more knowledge than Hyperion since it is built around script systems etc so I'd say Hyperion is better for learning purposes.
