The cache is all the graphics, sounds, models etc needed to run the client.
You usually put your cache in your user home, but some sources have the cache directly in the client.

Some sources come without cache because
A: the client automatically downloads the cache
B: they expect you to have your own cache

So if a player doanloads my server my client does not have auto download.
How is he going to get the cache?

    Three ways:

A: Put cache folder in client folder and change the cache path.
B: Make a cachedownloader. There's extremely easy tutorials on how to do this.
C: Tell the supposed player to download the cache and put it in manually.

    1. Get a spoon and fork.
    2. wrap a napkin around your neck.
    3. eat it.

    Enjoy

But srsly, the cache contains all the game related content. Client uses it to draw, think of it as a sprite sheet, without it you wouldn't have anything on screen. You need to make the server locate the cache so its ready to send bits of it when needed. Known as an update server.
