Hyperion or Apollo.
|
Hey guys, I'm wanting to start off fresh with my project, I need some of your opinions on what source/client I should start with that is relatively clean (not up to rewriting skills just yet), is stable and is organised. All feedback is welcome and I will consider everyone's comments. Thanks.
Hyperion or Apollo.
I don't get why everyone says use apollo, while 90% of those people never even downloaded the source..
Anyway, OT: Yes Apollo is a good and stable base, but it is not a good base to start off with, as alot of work has to be done and there are not many tutorials for it.
I am not sure how familair you are with RSPS and how well you can code, I think Hyperion would be a good way to go if you are able to produce small code without the need of snippets or tutorials, if you do need a tutorial or snippet for almost everything I would suggest going to a PI base just for learning purposes, as Hyperion can be a tad hard to use with few experience.
So depending on your java abilities (higher to low):
Apollo
Hyperion
PI
You could check out several bases here: http://www.rune-server.org/runescape...rameworks.html
Also don't get a PI base filled with content! Usually it's done in horrible ways and will be very hard to work with, and cause major bugs/instability
Beginner: Project Insanity.
More Advanced: Rs2/Hyperion.
i love how everyone says use Hyperion or Apollo who the **** cares if you can make a server that will be number 1 and you use delta for it no1 is going to say anything about it.
@topic
use what you like if you dont like to use other ppl's framework make your own if you dont mind use any random server out there
no no no no no, do not do this, if you start using project insanity you are going to get into bad programming habits that are going to be extremely hard to break out of and will only slow you down when learning how to program
I doubt he's going to be able to use a framework if he can't use Hyperion or Apollo... entity updating? packet processing? task/event processing? no way in hell he's gonna be able to do that if he's just starting
doesn't matter which project insanity you use, they're all buggy/slow/unstable and will lead to bad programming habits
@op: Honestly, I don't mean to toot my own horn but try Asteria.
gotta love when people say:
"don't use pi for a starter base, use hyperion or apollo"
and they use PI themselves.. lmfao
