    Would it be possible to host a server, whilst not developing it yourself but hiring a Developer? I could use some opinions on this matter.

    I do have the ideas, the experience, the contacts and whatever else it takes to successfully run a server, but the experience of actually developing the server.
    I do have the funds to back this up as well.

    One of my main concerns;
    Is it possible to un-do any changes he would make to the source, as in clearing all of it may he ever decide to quit, or disable his access to do any further changes to the server if anything may happen?

    Would like to get some reply's on this.

    I do realize that most of you will think ''why run a server if you can't/will not develop if yourself''.
    Developing & successfully running a server are two different things, I'm more then capable to run it and everything else that comes along the way, but the developing part. Of course I will be looking into it more then I've done already, as well as continue to learn it along the way.

    Why not just use drop box and if you want to stop him from using it just remove it from drop box.

    And if you want to undo changes then perform back ups after major up dates if you like it. Or learn to read code and undo what you don't like.

    Hope I helped.

    Did help me out in a way, although I'd like to have more feedback on this.

    The way I'm seeing it is as he would develop the server and fix/update anything I would ask him to do, and pay him for the specific things he has done.

    What exactly are you even asking us? Use some common sense. Are you worried he will scam you? It all depends on the person.. I still don't understand why you made this thread. Ofcourse It's possible for someone to develop for you and you just pay for all the hosting fees, etc.

    I think the best way you could do this is to partner up with a developer that you can trust. Try to get someone who can do full time work with you (additional tip: if you want to hire remote developers who can work full time so you can save on costs, you can check here).

    I've known someone who did this. It would be a great advantage since both of you will be taking advantage of each other's expertise and skills. Plus, you are sure that you will be together for the long term. So, no processes might change or be left out (as what you have been worrying about if I'm not mistaken).

    I've seen this exact same question asked before, Not sure if it was the same user or not.

    As for the questions: The answer is an obvious YES, You can run a server and hire developers to develop it for you. But majority will not do it for free.

    Also probably the most efficient way to co-develop a server with someone is to use Dropbox. However I'd highly suggest backing up all files once you've added something to prevent it from being lost for whatever reason.
