Is it worth jarring and obfuscating the server or to just upload the whole source?
Looking to join a team of developers* to work on a RSPS.
Will put in time and effort for the project.

    * Developers must have basic understanding of Java. I would love to work and learn from experts, but it's rare that they would want to work with someone that isn't on the same level as them.

    1. Why would you jar the server?
    2. Why would you obfuscate the server?
    3. Do you mean the client?

    1. To make it more clean.
    2. To prevent people who gain access to your server from getting your source.
    3. No.

    3. No.
Ohh I see your logic, I obfuscated my source the other day too, much easier to use and to program on. Also has a password and key lock etc. It's epic. Apologies.

Nice to know. Now I just gotta figure out how to use proguard, since it was recommended to me.

I'm pretty sure you can't Jar/Obfuscate the source, that's client-related. Also, if you believed Zelix's post I feel bad for you.

I skimmed his post. I just re-read it and saw his sarcasm. I know I don't plan to code with the jarred and obfuscated source. It is just used to run on the VPS. I never obfuscated a source, so I wouldn't know if it works or not. That is why I asked.
