To catch bots they look for reflection.

For my chat system on my server, I wrote a system that increases there spamFilter every time they send a message. Once their spamFilter reaches 10, they are automatically muted for 5*timesMuted minutes. Now, if they go 2 seconds without sending a message in chat, there spamFilter gets reset. I find that it works really good seeing as most advertisers set auto-typers for 1 second apart.

Now, for clicking, I was thinking of making a similar system because just like chat, most auto-clickers are set less than 2 seconds apart. For the clicking system, it would have to be much lest strict and maybe allow for 50 - 75 clicks less than 2 seconds apart before logging the player out. That is only because I know that players can click just as fast, but typically won't click that fast for 50 - 75 clicks. Even, if they do, its not to hard for an active player to just log back in, where as an afk skiller won't be able to log in until the account owner is back at there computer.

There is probably much better ways of doing this, but those are just my suggestions. Also, I don't think that Jagex ever had a system that protected against macroing. I am pretty sure that they did rely on player reports. The probably had a system that reviewed the player reports.
    The wor has begun.

    Nice man

    mines more simple

    Chat Filter
If message is sent more than X amount of times during a X amount of period they are muted for X amount of time

    Mouse tracking
Count's the amount of straight lines preformed in X amount of time

    Dupe Checking
Checks for X amount of rare's exceeding X limit of that item

    Mouse Clicking
If a player clicks more than X amount of times during a X amount of period

Also what to implement a Black-mark system to this aswell, for each of these conditions are broken you get a black mark depending on the severity of the abuse, points go towards a overall ranking system depending on what zone you are in

    i.e
    • Green = 0 Points
    • Orange = X Points (temp.ban, x-amount of time)
    • Red = X Points (perm.ban)

Just something really simple like that, also thinking of writing info to a text file name | offence | black-marks given | total black-marks | time/date
