Okay, honestly I haven't worked with runescape private server in years. Last thing I remember was Project Insanity coming out and that was widely used. Still looks like it tops the list of bases now days. I really hope I can get some honest answers out of this thread.
I'm not that great with java, but It really doesn't take much to beat the average "programmer" in rune-server. I study my book, watch videos, and understand the basics. If anybody has any recommendations that helped you, please point that out also.
Also another topic that comes across my mind is, what is the preference of the majority of players now days? Do people sill enjoy old school or even 450 - 474 anymore?
Overall, I hope not see any smart ass remarks as it usually ends up being. Well that's all I got to say.

I'm saying any recommendations to what helped you or anybody else achieve in learning java.
Alright, I appreciate the reply. The only problem with bases such as Hyperion is I'm not advanced enough to create a combat system. I've got the motivation for it, but not the skill.
Pick one of these, best out there plus or minus a couple.
i learned java by internet lawl, like dl'ed learning java in 21 days from someone who released here, read couple java trials, etc, etc, its pretty easy once you get the hang of the basics
Yeah i've heard of that before, i'll go look for it now. I mean I'm not clueless to java. I know my basic stuff, such as arrays, while loops, for loops, importing, nested if, basic syntax, and so on. Just understanding how it applies to some of the code thats already in sources stumps me, I read some things from a basic source trying to understand where to start and i'm lost. You get what I mean? I could program content off the top of my brain but doing things such as trading, shops, combat, chat, pm, and so on looses me. Which are some of the most important aspects that make a server individual.
