This is how i made my server work.

First of all. Go to Start - Run - cmd

    Type : ipconfig

    Search for your Default Gateway

copy that address and type it in your browser.

Then a message will pop up asking for your username and pass.

    for username type :admin
    for password type: admin

when you are logged in. you have all the details.

Go to this site: Port Forwarding Guides Listed by Manufacturer and Model - PortForward.com

And it has guides on how to portforfard depending on your router version.

Once you have followed their tutorial and changed thee port to 43594.

You are not done yet, you still need to add other stuff in order to get your server running.

    Go to No-ip.com.
    Register there.
    Download No-ip DUC

When you downloaded it. Go to No-ip.com and click "Create a Host"
For the first part put the sername you want and for the domain put "no-ip.org"
Then click on "create a host"

    Now open up your No-IP DUC from Start/all programs/No-IP DUC/DUC 3.0

When opened, type in your registered details and log in.

Then you should see 3 green ticks.

    Click on "select hosts"
And mark the one you just created.
then exit out of your DUC

Now go to Start - Control Panel - Firewall.

Click on Exceptions - Add port

For name put the ipaddress you created in no-ip.com, for example "servername.no-ip.org"

for your port put : 43594

Now your laptop can run your server.

If you have done all that, you can now edit your client.

You have both a "client" and a "source/server" folder for your server.

Open up your client folder and search for Client.Java

Open that file and search for
    Code:
     server =
    after
    Code:
     server =
    you should see " "

    Put your servername.no-ip.org in between the " " 's

    Search for
    Code:
     server =
again incase there is a second one somewhere in your Client.Java file. If there isnt. then save and compile.

Thanks for reading, if you are having problems, just send a reply or something and i will help. If i helped you, then thank me or something
